Not a whole lot of excitement this week, so let’s quickly dive into this week’s winners and losers.
Winners – Top 25 teams, Vegas, Maryland
Twenty of the Top 25 teams played on Saturday, and all but one of them won their games. The one loss? #23 Arizona State to #5 Stanford, 28 – 42. Further, Ohio State, Louisville, Miami, and Baylor each scored 70+ points. Not exactly compelling television.
Vegas was also a big winner this weekend
Favorites won 57 of 59 FBS games this week. 2 upsets: Memphis def. Ark. State & Utah def. BYU, based on Vegas odds

And Maryland advanced to 4-0 with a shutout victory over West Virginia, 37 – 0. Maryland has a bye week before a tough road test at Florida State. We’ll then see if this Terps team is legit.
Losers – Arkansas, Jeff Driskel
Every SEC team took care of their non-conference opponent on Saturday; all that is, except Arkansas. The Hogs led 24-14 entering the 4th quarter, but allowed two touchdowns to the Scarlet Knights en route to a 24 – 28 loss. The road doesn’t get any easier for the Razorbacks, who play Texas A&M, Florida, South Carolina, and Alabama in the upcoming weeks.
Coming off an ugly 16 – 21 loss at Miami, the Gator offense looked inept in the first half against Tennessee. But it was even worse for QB Jeff Driskel. In the third series of the game, a Driskel pass was intercepted by Devaun Swafford for a 62-yard touchdown. As he threw, Driskel was hit hard by a Tennessee lineman, and went down. And stayed down. He left the field on crutches and was diagnosed with a broken right fibula. He’s out for the year. Our thoughts and prayers are with Jeff.

A Look Ahead
Week 5 looks to be a good one, with several compelling games. College Gameday will be Athens when #6 LSU plays #9 Georgia. #23 Wisconsin plays at #4 Ohio State, #1 Alabama faces a tough test against Huge Freeze and #21 Ole Miss, and the 14th ranked Sooners travel to South Bend to play the #22 Fighting Irish. UCF is undefeated and hosts #12 South Carolina in a game that, thanks to the strong start by the Knights, suddenly became an interesting.
And for night owls? Fresno State plays at Hawaii at midnight.
